Marvel Studios is reportedly moving closer to production on one of the most anticipated films of the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Industry insider DanielRPK claims “Avengers: Secret Wars” is scheduled to begin filming in August, setting the stage for a major cinematic event.
The film is currently planned for a December 17, 2027 theatrical release. It will arrive a year after “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is expected to land in cinemas in December 2026. Together, the two titles are widely believed to close out the MCU’s ongoing Multiverse storyline.
The title “Secret Wars” carries major significance in Marvel history. The name comes from two landmark comic book arcs — the original 1984 crossover series and the 2015 reboot — both known for bringing together heroes and villains from multiple timelines and realities in a massive battle that reshaped the Marvel universe.
Marvel has yet to reveal a confirmed cast list, but speculation around the project remains intense. Fans expect characters introduced across different Marvel eras and alternate universes to converge in what could become one of the studio’s largest crossover films to date.
If production does begin later this year, Secret Wars will represent another step toward Marvel’s next cinematic reset — potentially redefining the future direction of the franchise.
