STELLA MCCARTNEY BRINGS SS26 TO THE STABLE

For SS26, Stella McCartney traded the traditional runway for a horse stable — complete with live horses moving calmly alongside models. It wasn’t spectacle for spectacle’s sake. It was message and setting aligned.

McCartney, a lifelong advocate for animal rights and founder of one of luxury fashion’s most established cruelty-free houses, has built her brand on rejecting leather, fur, and exotic skins. Staging the show inside a stable sharpened that point: fashion can exist in proximity to animals without exploiting them.

The Spring/Summer 2026 collection continued her exploration of sharp tailoring, relaxed silhouettes, and soft draping — pieces designed to feel effortless but intentional. Neutral tones met subtle structure, reinforcing her signature balance between polish and ease.

Since launching her label in 2001 after her tenure at Chloé, McCartney has consistently positioned sustainability at the core of her practice — from plant-based leather alternatives to regenerative material sourcing. SS26 extends that conversation, using environment as storytelling rather than backdrop.

In an industry often accused of contradiction, the setting said it clearly: ethics is not a trend here. It’s policy.
