Nigerian-born, New York–based designer Tia Adeola has unveiled her newest collection, “From Lagos, With Love,” at GTCO Fashion Weekend in Lagos, and it’s nothing short of a homecoming. Known for her romantic ruffles and art-history–inspired silhouettes, Adeola frames this drop as a literal love letter to the city that shaped her.
This collection is deeply rooted in Lagos’s cultural rhythms. It reworks Adeola’s signature design language, fluid draping, soft structure, sensual cuts, through nostalgic and local materials: think cowrie-shell beadwork, raffia straw textures, and screen-printed Ankara on satin. Bright, bold colorways, sequins, and cropped polos mirror the energy and heat of Lagos, giving the pieces a sense of warmth and life.
One of the most notable developments in this collection is Adeola’s venture into menswear. The lineup includes breathable linens, relaxed button-downs, and even football-jersey–inspired tops, all branded with her signature insignia. This isn’t just a nod to Lagos’ fashion-forward men; it’s a statement that her design vision is as inclusive as it is expressive.
For Adeola, From Lagos, With Love is a full-circle moment, celebrating a decade in design and reconnecting with her roots. As she put it during the show: “It’s a love letter to the city that raised me … Lagos pulses with contradiction, beauty, and rhythm.” The collection landed to applause from Lagos creatives and insiders, and the after-party at Mood Lagos sealed the moment as both intimate and deeply celebratory.
