A rumored Balenciaga x Supreme collaboration has been confirmed to be one of fashion’s biggest “what-ifs.” The project, which reportedly featured box-logo hoodies, outerwear, and accessories blending both brands, was scrapped before release.
Sources reveal that James Jebbia, Supreme’s founder, called off the partnership following Balenciaga’s 2022 teddy bear ad controversy, which had sparked widespread backlash. Jebbia allegedly felt that Balenciaga was “too fashion” for Supreme’s current direction and that the timing risked damaging the brand’s streetwear identity.
While leaked mock-ups surfaced in early 2023, the collection will remain unseen, adding to the mythology of canceled collabs that once promised to reshape the fashion landscape.
