TYLER, THE CREATOR TEAMS UP WITH CONVERSE FOR A NEW “1908” DROP

Tyler, the Creator continues to redefine sneaker culture through his latest venture with Converse: the 1908 Collection, a nostalgic yet forward-thinking revival of archival silhouettes infused with his signature GOLF le FLEUR* aesthetic. For this drop, he resurrects two classic models: the 1970s Naut-1 boat shoe and the 1976 Coach Jogger running shoe, transforming them into fresh, everyday icons.

The Naut-1 returns in bold, modernized colorways like baby blue with contrasting soles, aged brown, a cream floral print, and a quirky all-over Darryl (Tyler’s Airedale Terrier) motif with playful touches that elevate the past while paying tribute to the original legacy. Meanwhile, the Jogger arrives in vibrant tones like baby blue, green, and worn-in brown, each aligned with the 2025 “torpedo sneaker” trend and executed with the rapper’s refined design finesse. Both styles balance simplicity and flair: Tyler chose not to overhaul the shoes, aiming instead for designs “folks just throw on to get coffee.”

This latest launch marks a milestone as it’s Le Fleur’s ninth year collaborating with Converse. In a London interview, he reflected on the partnership’s evolution, emphasizing authenticity over trends, personal expression over mass appeal, and the importance of staying true to one’s creative vision.

His approach resonates strongly: he prefers garments and shoes that feel earned, not contrived, and values the enduring appeal of simple, wearable design.
