Limited to just 10 pieces worldwide, the Patek Philippe 5738/50G-028 transforms the concept of a wristwatch into a poetic relic of craftsmanship. Officially titled “Flying Fish,” the piece elevates the brand’s iconic Golden Ellipse with a dial that is less timekeeper and more myth in motion.
Rendered through hand-engraving, champlevé silver-leaf work, and miniature enamel painting, the dial captures a surreal scene: a fish mid-flight, leaping across swirling waves.
The technical mastery is equally rare. The design required 25 kiln firings and uses 11 different enamel tones, bringing layered depth to the black enamel dial. Housed inside is the ultra-thin Caliber 240, a self-winding mechanical movement renowned for its elegance and efficiency.
More than a luxury watch, a collector’s object and meditation in enamel, and a celebration of Patek Philippe’s enduring dedication to handcraft and horological artistry.
