Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears will open its first international flagship in Tokyo in 2026, following the brand’s debut New York flagship, Africa Diaspora Goods in SoHo. The Tokyo rollout heralds a broader global retail strategy, with future U.S. locations planned in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Portland, and Los Angeles, though dates remain pending.
Since launching in 2019, the brand has doubled its sales each year and now boasts “tens of millions” in annual revenue despite operating without investment funding. Denim Tears is also expanding its offerings to include small leather goods, eyewear, and potentially jewelry, aligning with its mission to tell stories rooted in Black culture and community.
