ERL is making a bold statement in summer footwear with the launch of its latest flip flop collection featuring exaggerated proportions and jaw dropping price tags.
The standout item is the “Huge Flip,” a towering 8-inch platform sandal that’s more sculpture than slipper, priced at $1,250. Also in the mix is a slightly more wearable version dubbed the “Big Flip,” retailing for $375.
Known for pushing the line between streetwear and surrealism, Eli Russell Linnetz (founder of ERL) continues to blur fashion norms with this drop. The flip flops carry the same playful, oversized aesthetic the brand is known for, this time , turning an everyday essential into a high-concept design piece.
While reactions online have been mixed ranging from admiration to ankle related concerns it’s clear ERL isn’t playing it safe this season.
This launch follows ERL’s continued experimentation with scale, volume, and irony solidifying its place as one of the more unconventional voices in fashion right now.
