TOLU COKER AND TJ SAWYER DELIVER A STRIKING NEW TAKE ON DENIM

British-Nigerian designer Tolu Coker has partnered with London-based creative TJ Sawyer on a denim campaign that brings craftsmanship and culture to the forefront. Shot in Ghana, the visuals feel like an ode to African elegance: modern, striking, and steeped in history.

In the images, models pose with unmistakable grace, styled in sculptural silhouettes that reimagine denim as something beyond the everyday. A sharp-shouldered blazer dress is paired with gold hoop earrings and kitten heels, while other looks include a two-piece zippered co-ord with a pleated midi skirt, and a structured corset shirt tucked into panelled jeans. Together, they form a cohesive palette of deep indigo, washed black, and silver-grey.

Sawyer’s direction centers presence and posture, letting the garments speak while grounding them in an environment that’s both contemporary and unmistakably West African. There’s an ease to the campaign, but also intent: a denim story that’s styled with purpose and rooted in identity.
