STREETWEAR AND STARPOWER: OUR HOTTEST DROPS OF THE WEEK

At Simon Says Drip, we pay attention to brands, collaborations, and releases that turn heads and define movements. This week, we’ve rounded over ten drops that we think should be on everyone’s radar, ranging from local labels to international designs making waves at home.

COLD CULTURE – “SEX & CALORIES”

Madrid-based streetwear label Cold Culture teased its “Sex & Calories” drop on Instagram in early July (“Pieces too cold for this summer. Don’t miss it.”) Their collection titled “Sex ad Calories” is exactly what it sounds like, seductive, irreverent, and ready for the summer heatwave. It leans into cheeky graphic design and a playful nostalgia, featuring cropped hoodies, micro shorts, ombre swim trunks, oversized tees, and denim stamped with kiss prints.

BORN X RAISED FT. MISTER CARTOON – “ANGELS WILL RISE”

L.A. streetwear staple Born X Raised teamed up with legendary tattoo and graffiti artist Mister Cartoon for a drop that’s deeply rooted in West Coast iconography. The collection features tees, hoodies, work shirts, and accessories emblazoned with airbrush-style angels, script lettering, and cartoonish hand-drawn scenes which are all signature Mister Cartoon aesthetics. In tones of black, royal blue, white, and khaki, the pieces channel a gritty, lowrider-inspired edge: think varsity fonts, pinup figures, and graphic backs. There’s also embroidered caps, LA-letter crewnecks, socks, plaid skirts, and printed zines that round out the cultural homage.

THIS IS US – “LOCAL CHAMPION”

The SS25 Local Champion drop celebrates homegrown talent and everyday heroes in Nigeria. The range includes roomy danshikis, wide-leg pants, button-downs, and cropped jackets, crafted entirely from locally sourced Funtua cotton, hand-dyed in Kano, with nostalgic motifs and “Local Champion” badges woven into design details.

KAI COLLECTIVE – “MEET ME”

Kai Collective’s latest capsule, titled “Meet Me,” blends minimalist design with painterly flair. Key pieces include the flowing Isola dress in abstract prints and laser‑cut faux‑suede tops like the Yumi in pear green. The line is restocked for summer with elevated staples designed to feel feminine yet effortless.

TRAVIS SCOTT – “JACKBOYS 2” MERCH

Tied to the July 13 release of Jackboys 2, the merch drop features co-branded Fox Racing cotton jerseys (grey/black), a lineup of short- and long-sleeve tees with artist tracklists and ski mask graphics, plus limited-edition merch bundles including CDs, vinyl, and collectible box sets. Bundles follow Travis’s typical release strategy, with multiple colorways and physical media included.

WYWRD – “LOVE WYWRD”

A Lagos-based brand coined from the term “Wayward,” their latest collection bold tribute to love that wears loud. Loud hearts, loud prints, WYWRD always speaks volumes.

XELA CARTEL

Nigerian brand, Xela Cartel comes in heavy this round with a punchy mix of streetwear, club kits, and logomania. The collection features matching tracksuits with graffiti-style script, a blood-red monogram hoodie, and a varsity-style black rugby top with “Xela” emblazoned across the chest. There’s also a series of cropped two-pieces with flared pants and long-sleeve shrugs, tapping into both sporty and femme energy.

SKYLRK – DROP 1

Justin Bieber’s brand Skylrk has launched its first collection, focusing on vibrant sweat-centric pieces and accessories. The lineup includes candy-colored zip hoodies, molded slide sandal and chunky mule footwear, beanies, and oversized sunglasses, styled in bright shades like Fizz, Gum, and Jelly. Early reviews highlight clean silhouettes and premium casual-wear appeal.

NEIGHBOURHOOD X FUCKING AWESOME

Two streetwear titans come together for a gritty, high impact collab. One that highlights NEIGHBORHOOD’s motorcycle-informed tailoring with Fucking Awesome’s gritty skate couture. The core piece is a matte-black workwear jacket, boxy, pigment-dyed, and built tough. Also available are sleeve tees, hoodies, checkered shirts, waffle-knit crests, and incense accessories.

SEVERE NATURE – “MADE FOR MORE”

Severe Nature’s second capsule, dubbed Made for More, launched July 12 featuring a continued partnership with Hennessy. The drop builds on the rebel spirit of their debut, offering purpose-built streetwear suited for confident urban explorers. Its visuals suggest premium loungewear and statement pieces accented by the house of Hennessy collaboration.

CRÉER MAGNUS  – LIMA JERSEY

The limited-edition Lima Jersey from Créer Magnus is now live. Crafted from Dri-FIT poly with a knit rib collar and tackle-twill logo embroidery on the chest, it blends athletic textures with casual luxury. The drop also complements other upcoming items like hoodies and waffle-knit tees.

LLYGANT – “APEX”

Detailed jerseys sharply tailored for those who move with intention.

CULTUR SPACE – SUMMER IN TÜRKİYE

Cultur Space offers a Summer in Türkiye capsule, drawing inspiration from Turkish coastal energy and cultural motifs. Expect vibrant prints, breezy tops, and artisan home/ware items that reflect the sun-soaked lifestyle of the Mediterranean, blending craft with vacation-ready ease.

COMPLEX DEPARTMENT – SS25/26 “RENAISSANCE”
