AYRA STAR JOINS ROC NATION

Ayra Starr has joined the Roc Nation roster, marking a new step in her growing international career. The news became clear after Roc Nation updated their official website to include her in their music talent lineup, listing her among artists the label represents.

While no public statement has been issued by Ayra herself, the listing suggests that Roc Nation will be handling parts of her global career, likely in management, publishing, or international distribution. She remains signed to Mavin Records in Nigeria, the label that launched her career in 2021.

Roc Nation, founded by Jay-Z, is known for representing artists like Rihanna, J. Cole, and Snoh Aalegra. Their support could open more global opportunities for Ayra, who recently made history as the first Nigerian female artist to win a BET Award.

The move isn’t unusual. Many African artists hold regional deals at home and global partnerships abroad. It allows them to stay rooted in their original sound while accessing broader markets.

For Ayra, who’s already had a breakout year with her album The Year I Turned 21, the timing makes sense. Her sound has reached beyond Afrobeats circles, and with Roc Nation behind her, that reach could grow further.
