DOLCE & GABBANA TRANSFORMS ROMAN FORUM AT ALTA MODA 2025

Dolce & Gabbana marked a spectacular return to Rome for its 2025 Alta Moda show, turning the ancient Foro Romanoand Via Sacra into a grand stage. The event, held July 14 as part of a multi-day celebration of Italian couture, art, music, and culture, drew over 450 VIP clients and globe‑spanning attention.

The collection paid heartfelt homage to Ancient Rome’s splendor and 1950s–60s cinematic grandeur. Think Roman soldiers, Caesar figures, lyre players, and vestal virgins weaving through the crowd, costumes mirroring the setting around them. Highlights included velvet gowns in imperial shades, sculptural brass corsets, and stolae-inspired draped dresses echoing classical sculpture.

Handcrafting took center stage: military‑style breastplates, sewn-over chiffon, and Venetian‑glass‑like techniques reinforced Dolce & Gabbana’s mastery of fatto-a-mano craftsmanship. Ballgowns featured sequins and architectural prints; pleated chiffon capes channeled Cleopatra’s glam; jeweled embroidery and metallic appliqué referenced marble busts and ancient coins.

Domenico Dolce delivered a solo bow at the end, sharing the runway with icons like Cher, Christian Bale, Isabella Rossellini, and Erling Haaland. For Dolce, staging Alta Moda in Rome was a cultural first and a reverence for heritage: “these people have a vision about beauty,” he said.

This year, the show’s opera‑like spectacle reaffirmed Dolce & Gabbana’s ability to connect high fashion, history, and performance. By framing couture within Rome’s ancient architecture, the moment became both a tribute and a theatrical statement.
