Its haute couture season in Paris with high fashion luxury houses rolling out their highly anticipated Fall 2025 collection. A more eager watch was Chanel’s atelier and their final creations before Matthew Blazy’s debut set for September’s Spring/Summer collection in Paris.
While the house currently lacks a clear vision, its designers maintained Chanel’s ethos – a liberating luxury as an ode to its legacy. What supermodel, Naomi Campbell, described as “…warmth, intimacy, and nostalgia.” The house defined the collection as one that explores the imagination of 31 rue Cambon in Paris, which is the brand’s first ever Haute Couture salon as well as founder Coco Chanel’s apartment.
The collection, though similar to a ready-to-wear ensemble, was a nod to rustic country imagery, taking a trip back in time to mark its 110 years of Haute Couture. Beige coat dresses and sculpted jackets with jewelled buttons designed in the iconic plaid pattern, mohair suits, and faux-fur jackets made of sheepskin feathers, and bouclé tweeds braided in suits relayed the French classic chic.
By the end of the show, all eyes were on the Chanel bride, modeled by Apolline Rocco Fohrer in a 600-hour tailored gown. The wedding dress featured intricate crystal embroidery of wheat ears around the neckline, while Fohrer carried a golden sheaf of gilded wheat (a historic emblem of the house).
Chanel’s creative studio depicted an intentionally curated reiteration of the Maison’s ‘codified identity,’ and have duly set the stage for Blazy’s highly anticipated introduction in the coming months. In attendance were friends and ambassadors of the house: Lorde, Wang Yibo, Sofia Coppola, Keira Knightley, Penélope Cruz, Gracie Abrams, and many more.
